Studies on the longhorn beetles of Greece were carried out in 2007-2009 in northern (continental), as well as in the southern (the Peloponnesus) part of the country. As a result, 106 species were found, which is more than 32% of the whole cerambycid fauna of this country. Two species, i.e. Phytoecia (Opsilia) molybdaena (Dalman, 1817) and Aegomorphus clavipes (Schrank, 1781), are new for the fauna of Greece. New data on the biology, host plants and behavior of particular species were obtained by field observations and subsequent laboratory rearing.

Aim of this paper is to give an integrated overview of species richness of the families Elateridae, Throscidae, Lissomidae and Throscidae of Zábřeh territory. Together during years 1967 – 2010 there were proven 75 species. For the more significant findings the state of current populations is evaluated, including proposals of steps necessary for their further survival.

Po úspěšném dokončení studie o druzích podčeledi Cardiophorinae (Elateridae) České republiky a Slovenska (Mertlik 2011), bude další práce z plánované řady faunistických studií věnována druhům podčeledi Agrypninae Candèze, 1857. Obsah a styl práce bude stejný jako u předchozích prací. Dokončení práce je plánováno na počátek roku 2012.

A review of the subfamily Cardiophorinae Candèze, 1860, based on new records and literature data, is made. In the area of the Czech Republic the presence of 14 species of the subfamily Cardiophorinae was proven: Cardiophorus asellus Erichson, 1840; C. atramentarius Erichson, 1840; C. discicollis (Herbst, 1806); C. ebeninus (Germar, 1824); C. erichsoni Buysson, 1901; C. gramineus (Scopoli, 1763); C. nigerrimus Erichson, 1840; C. ruficollis (Linnaeus, 1758); C. vestigialis Erichson, 1840; Dicronychus cinereus (Herbst, 1784); D. equiseti (Herbst, 1784); D. equisetioides Lohse, 1976; D. rubripes (Germar, 1824) a Paracardiophorus musculus (Erichson, 1840). In the area of Slovakia there was found Cardiophorus anticus Erichson, 1840, except the 14 species listed above. Exact position data, biotope photos and notes on biotope conservation possibilities are added to the text.

216 species of staphylinid beetles (Coleptera, Staphylinidae) are listed from the protected area “Na Plachtě“ in Hradec Králové in period 1995-2005. The biodiversity of staphylinid beetles is evaluated based on the ecological analysis of its communities. The highest frequency of stenotopic and endangered species was occurred in wet meadows and wetland and on the shore of ponds. The share of endangered species was lower in rests of alluvial forest and central sandy area. The rare species are discussed and recommendations of the management are proposed for the biodiversity protection.

In this paper I deal with ethology of on linden burncow Lamprodila (Lamprodila) rutilans rutilans (Fabricius, 1777) in lime wood alley on the dam of Oborník pond in Zábřeh. At the example of care of this alley and with regards to similar problems in other cities I determinate the most frequently repeated mistakes at limewood alleys care and I offer proposals on its improvement so it would better fit to primary function of alleys as well as to living demands of their beautiful inhabitants.
