Summary

This study contains the overview of Geotrupidae, Scarabaeidae and Trogidae found in the eastern Bohemia. The inventory of the localities of the above-mentioned families was conducted during 2017–2021 (Mertlik 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022).

Additionally, I used the faunistic data published by Bunalski (2003), Bunalski et al. (2018), Byk & Minkina (2014), Hamet & Vancl (2005), Hamet (2009), Hamet & Vancl (2016), Hoffmannová (2006), Hron (2020), Juřena (1996), Juřena et al. (2000), Juřena et al. (2008), Kopecký (2009), Král & Souček (1982), Král & Souček (1987), Král & Vitner (1993), Král & Vitner (1996), Král & Rakovič (2012), Kříženecký (1910), Mencl (1974), Mertlik (2007), Mikát et al. (1997), Mikát & Hájek (1999), Mikát (2007), Mikát & Hamet (2014), Mocek & Mikát (2001), Obenberger (1952), Poláček (1977), Resl (2018), Rod (2014), Rössner et al. (2010), Rössner (2012), Smetana (1950), Sommer et al. (2021), Tesař (1957), Týr (1997, 1999 a 2017), and Vitner & Král (1993).

To date, seven species of Geotrupidae, 80 species of Scarabaeidae and five species of Trogidae have been recorded from the eastern Bohemia, including the historical records. During the inventory in 2017–2021, earlier records of two species of Geotrupidae, 23 species of Scarabaeidae, and one species of Trogidae were not confirmed.

Two species of Scarabaeidae, which were recorded from the eastern Bohemia based on misidentifications, were removed from this catalogue, i.e., Agrilinus constans (Tesař 1957: 275) and Melinopterus punctatosulcatus (Poláček 1977: 534). Species A constans, known from the Alps, was probably misidentified based on A. convexus (Mertlik 2020: 50), and Melinopterus punctatosulcatus was misidentified based on M. prodromus (Mertlik 2020: 91).

Terminology follows Löbl & Löbl (2016). The following signs are used in the catalogue:
– occurrence of species in eastern Bohemia not confirmed in 2017–2021
x species currently not occurring in eastern Bohemia but recorded before 1980
* species recorded based on the misidentification

Faunistic records before 1980 are in the maps marked with red color, while records since 1980 are marked by green color. Under each faunistic map, there is a reference to data published by the author in years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
